A New Beginning
First off, welcome to my new website and the new home of Rob “Maximus” MacDonald. Thank you for your continued support and friendship.
The original website launched in 2006. There have been a lot of changes since then and they have all led me to this point. Like everyone I have had some “ups” and “downs” but thankfully I’ve seen a lot more of the good than the bad. I truly feel blessed to be in the position that I am now.
This new site is more representative of who I am at this moment in time. The person I have become. The person I plan to become in the future. Rebecca Clayton, who designed the site captured that sentiment completely. I am extremely grateful to her for her hard work on this. She is damn good at what she does.
In the next few weeks I will be fully updating the site. It will just take some time. From this point forward I will also be more dedicated to keeping the site current which is something I have not been good at in the past.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my true friends and my family. I can’t list or thank everyone but those of you who are close to me know exactly who you are. Thank you for supporting me in good times and in bad. Nothing I have accomplished was on my own. You have all played a great part in all of this.
As I move forward into this next phase of my life I owe a special thank you to my dear friends and family at Gym Jones. Lisa and Mark you have both given me the opportunity of a lifetime and entrusted me with your life’s work. I would not and could not be the man I am now without your leadership or guidance. Especially without yours Lisa. Somewhere during my journey I lost myself. You, Lisa, stuck by and reminded me of who I was meant to be and who I was capable of becoming. I am that person now.
I also owe a special thank you to my family. Mom, Dad, Michael and Beanie. Thank you for shaping who I am. Thank you for giving me the tools to be the man I am now. Thank you for your unconditional love.
Finally thank you to the people who have tried to hold me down and tried to infect me with their poison. You didn’t succeed in dragging me down to your level. You did the opposite. You made me stronger.I am more sure of who I am now than I ever have been. I’ve been galvanized. So thank you for that. Because of you I wake up everyday now and am fully able to appreciate the wonderful and blessed life that I have. I will never forget the negative. To truly know what heaven is you have to had walk through hell. I will forever use those memories and trials as motivation to continually better myself in all aspects of my life and I will never stop appreciating how fortunate I am to be where I am now.
It’s time to really do some things…

Fight Night MMA – Results
I am late in updating the site and for that I apologize. The fight never happened. My opponent pulled out and so I was left without a fight. Disappointing to say the least. I ended up going to the fights anyway to make a promotional appearance and was treated to an exceptional show and was able to meet a lot of very nice fans of the sport. It was a humbling experience to be recognized for what I have done in my modest MMA career. I would like to thank Kristi and Mike for having me out to the fights and treating me so well. I would also like to thank everyone I met at the fights and the fans in attendance who came out to support this wonderful cause. Finally I would like to thank my sponsor for the event “Street Soldier”. They know how to treat a fighter and have a great product. Please support them. Thank you.

Victory Fighting Results

The fight on February 20th didn’t go as planned. The bottom line is that I got caught with an elbow and a few knees and got KTFO’d. I refuse to offer any excuses for my poor performance. These things happen sometimes and my opponent got the better of me on that night. There is nothing else to say except that I need to use this loss as an experience to learn from and continue to progress as a fighter and as an athlete. All I can do is strive to get better and work harder than ever. Thank you to everyone who supported me in this and all my other endeavors. Know that it is appreciated.

VFC Weigh In: February 19/2009

Tonight was the official Weigh In for the Victory Fighting Championships. The champion Chuck “The Reverend” Grigsby and the challenger Rob “Maximus” MacDonald both made weight and it should be a great show tomorrow. Thank you to Esther Lin and Combat Lifestyle for the photo.

Hardcore Championship Fighting Results

I have been in Salt Lake City, Utah now for 2 months and I have fully recovered from a fully torn bicep tendon which happened right before my last fight with Hector Ramirez. There are no exact dates set for my next fight but by the end of the year I plan to defend my ROF title and compete in one or two more fights.
I have been busy training and have recently had the opportunity to work with Will Bernales at The Bernales Institute of Martial Arts and with the guys over at Unified. I have found a talented group of training partners and friends during my stay here and I am learning all that I can.
Under the watchful eye of my good friends and mentors here at Gym Jones my conditioning and mental outlook on competition have never been better. Each day with the help of Mark, Lisa, Johnny, John, Mike, James, Tony, Paul, Josh and the rest of the crew I am bettering myself everyday.
To my family at Shahs, I miss you dearly and will be coming home soon to visit and train. We will do something great together in the coming years. As indivudals but more importantly as a team.
Maximus…
