Signature Workout: 400-Meter Manslaughter
Circuit Style Workout
Salt Lake City is a beautiful city. The Wasatch Mountains provide a stunning backdrop no matter where in the city you are, and the weather is nice from spring to fall. On particularly nice days, I’ll drag a few dumbbells or kettlebells to a track for a sunny, albeit difficult, training session. This workout packs in 400 reps each of a functional lower- and upper-body exercise. It takes about 25 minutes and makes you sore for days.
Directions
Stand on the starting line of a track. Start by performing 5 reps of the dumbbell walking lunge (5 on each leg). Then, immediately do 5 push presses. Repeat until you’ve circled the track one time, which is 400 meters. Pro tip: Don’t use too-heavy weights. I recommend
20 pounds for most guys.
