The build for the next competition has begun. I am entering a ‘mass gain’ phase of my training. For the past few months I have attempted to put on weight but my progress has stalled. It’s due to the fact that the stimulus I was giving my body wasn’t enough. After getting so sick I had to ease my way back into training so to speak. I still went hard and I did gain a portion of my weight back but I still have 17 pounds to go. Therefore the stimulus needs to be increased. You’ll see some pretty savage workouts over the next 6-8 weeks. There’s going to be a lot of muscle soreness. 

Workout: 

Monday, August 27th, 2018

Work up to Heavy Bench Via 10-1 Ladder

Start at 135lbs and end at 315lbs 

Then: 

10×25 Dumbbell Bench Press @ 2 x 60lbs 

Rest 60sec between each 

Then, Later: 

50x Strict, Dead Hang Pull-up 

Then: 

5x Strict, Dead Hang Pull-up + 

Set of T-Bar Row To Failure 

Ten Sets, Rest 90sec between each 

Then: 

5x Strict, Dead Hang Pull-up + 

Set of Banded Bicep Curls To Failure + 

Set of Tricep Pushdowns To Failure 

Three Sets, Rest 90sec between each 

Tuesday, August 28th, 2018

10×10 Back Squat @ 225-315lbs 

Go up in weight by 10lbs each set 

Rest 90sec between each set 

Then, Later: 

Work up to HEAVY ATP (Athletic Training Platform) Deadlift with Bands 

Then: 

5×2 ATP Deadlift with Bands (HEAVY)

A shit ton of hamstring work..

Note about the training: Day to day entries will change. Some entires will be workouts I have done that day, some entries will be workouts that people I train did that day. Some entries will be my favorite all time workouts or something I saw on the internet that I thought would be good for you to experience. Remember that because of the changing nature of the entries these workouts are not meant to be prescriptive. For example they aren’t necessarily written down with the intention of you following them precisely. Rather, they are meant to collectively build a resource that you can learn from. Hopefully you can implement some of these ideas and workouts into your own training in order to better your fitness.

Also note that I won’t be posting at the same time every day. If I workout early then it might get posted early. If I workout late then it might get posted late. If I am in  different time zone then hell, I don’t know what time it will show up. Just a head’s up. That said, I will do my best to get them to you in a timely fashion.
