Daily Workout: December 9th, 2017
Today I rested. There is no workout to post. I thought about posting something you could do but I thought it would be better to educated you on how I rest.
I don’t plan rest days. When it comes to getting better physically I do not believe they help. In fact I believe the opposite. I think they slow you down. Have you ever rested completely on a day and then tried to go hard the next day? Doesn’t go very well does it? The body likes to move. It was meant to move. It always helps your body to walk, swim, bike, or lift some light weights.
That doesn’t mean rest days are completely bad though. Sometimes you need a psychological recharge. I take them when I need a “mental health day”. Days when I am tired, unmotivated, run ragged by a difficult week, and just want to recharge. They make me feel more balanced and ensure I come back the next few days with some extra motivation. They also make me happy. There’s nothing like a day to just spend time with the ones you love. Today I spent the day with my loving wife Lisa, my little man Beanie Maximus, and that adorable little dude in the picture.
Try not planning a rest day. Just insert them when needed. That style of free flowing programming tends to work best. Just a word of advice. don’t take many of them. I average only 2 a month.
In other words.

Note about the training: Day to day entries will change. Some entires will be workouts I have done that day, some entries will be workouts that people I train did that day. Some entries will be my favorite all time workouts or something I saw on the internet that I thought would be good for you to experience. Remember that because of the changing nature of the entries these workouts are not meant to be prescriptive. For example they aren’t necessarily written down with the intention of you following them precisely. Rather, they are meant to collectively build a resource that you can learn from. Hopefully you can implement some of these ideas and workouts into your own training in order to better your fitness.
Also note that I won’t be posting at the same time every day. If I workout early then it might get posted early. If I workout late then it might get posted late. If I am in different time zone then hell, I don’t know what time it will show up. Just a head’s up. That said, I will do my best to get them to you in a timely fashion. You have my word on that but remember I don’t have an army of internet monkeys at my beck and call. I am doing this on my own…
