Daily Workout: June 27th, 28th, 29th, 2018
Sorry for the late posting and dumping all three of the past days in one post. It hasn’t been a normal week….
I don’t show it but the past 8 months have been a struggle at times. I lost 40lbs and a ton of strength, have been hospitalized numerous times, been bedridden, missed work, been up 7-8 times a night, battled extreme fatigue, and had a bunch of other issues. I had contracted “clostridium difficile” which is a deadly disease and I thought that was the source of all my issues. Turns out I was wrong. I’ve been unable to heal fully and after more hospital visits and a round of tests it turns out I have severe ulcerative colitis. This was the reason I contracted the “clostridium difficile” in the first place and the root of my problems. I guess it can be a pretty difficult thing to deal with. It could lead to having my colon removed and other invasive surgery. That said I’ve got a treatment plan in place, one which includes expensive meds for the rest of my life and some changes in lifestyle but you know me I’ll be good. I could complain or make excuses but that’s not how I deal with things. At least now I know what the hell is going on and I know what I’m fighting. I’m going to deal with this the way I’ve always dealt with setbacks: With a big smile on my face and a chip on both my shoulders. This is just another hurdle to jump over and a challenge that will make my success seem that much sweeter.
Some info on ulcerative colitis: “Known as an inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), ulcerative colitis affect more than 1.6 million Americans. It’s a painful, medically incurable disease that attacks the digestive system. Ulcerative colitis mainly inflames the large intestine (colon). Symptoms may include abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea, rectal bleeding, debilitating fatigue, and extreme weight loss. Many patients experience numerous hospitalizations and the majority requires invasive surgery.” #colitis #ibd

Friday, June 29th, 2018:
10-1 Bench Press Ladder
Start light and get heavier each set
10×10 Slow Count Bench Press @ 225
Rest 90sec between each set
Note: I wasn’t close to 100% today so I chose to do this. Light weights and lifting practice Just enough to keep me moving in the right direction. Not every day will be your best day. You just have to make sure that every day counts for something and that in some way you take a step forward.

Note about the training: Day to day entries will change. Some entires will be workouts I have done that day, some entries will be workouts that people I train did that day. Some entries will be my favorite all time workouts or something I saw on the internet that I thought would be good for you to experience. Remember that because of the changing nature of the entries these workouts are not meant to be prescriptive. For example they aren’t necessarily written down with the intention of you following them precisely. Rather, they are meant to collectively build a resource that you can learn from. Hopefully you can implement some of these ideas and workouts into your own training in order to better your fitness.
Also note that I won’t be posting at the same time every day. If I workout early then it might get posted early. If I workout late then it might get posted late. If I am in different time zone then hell, I don’t know what time it will show up. Just a head’s up. That said, I will do my best to get them to you in a timely fashion. You have my word on that but remember I don’t have an army of internet monkeys at my beck and call. I am doing this on my own…
