We had to discuss this. We struggled with it. We recorded it. We almost scrapped it. It’s raw, it’s anger fueled and it’s emotional. You may not want to listen to it. But if you do be warned. I apologize in advance if any of this comes off as anti-police. It’s not meant to. I love the police. I was a police officer. Some of my dearest friends are police officers. Not all police officers are bad. That said there are some really bad ones. I’m sick and tired of people sticking up for bad ones. I’m sick and tired of people turning a blind eye. Derek Chauvin should not have held that job. Someone has to be held accountable for that. The sad thing is there are more like him. Want to know something? I stepped across the so called thin blue line and arrested one of them. A person I worked with. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. I’ve also had run ins and confrontations with police I worked with as well who didn’t act right. I have no issue standing up for what is just even if it damages my reputation.  The point is it’s time to stand up for what is right. If you don’t speak on the problem you’re part of it. We need good people everywhere to take responsibility in this matter. It’s not enough to turn a blind eye. We need to work to make sure this never happens again. From the show notes: “In This Episode of The Maximus Podcast we discuss George Floyd. It’s an extremely serious talk and the episode is both volatile and emotional. We struggled with releasing it. We are angry. We sound angry. Like many others we want justice. Don’t listen to it if you can’t understand where we are coming from. Have an open mind or skip to the next episode.

You’ve been warned.”
