An Excerpt from The Book Of Bobby Maximus (Verse 1, Chapter 11)
Denial is the worst kind of lie. It’s a lie that robs us of personal growth and ensures that we cannot use our life experiences to build a better future.
In life we experience many instances where things don’t go our way. When these defeating moments happen we have two options: we can accept responsibility for our failures, learn from them, and evolve into a better person
We can live in a state of denial where we never truly accept responsibility or we blame other people or “circumstances” rather than look in the mirror in the fix what’s wrong.
The next time you’re in a situation where things don’t go your way rather than offering up excuses or refusing to accept your fair share of the blame, try taking a good, hard, long look in the mirror and really examine what went wrong and what you could have done to prevent it.
Remember, nothing just happens to you. We are in full control of our life’s outcome.
