An excerpt from “The Book Of Bobby Maximus” (Verse 10, Chapter 12):

Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have.

In this day and age it is too easy to get caught up in trying to live up to some manufactured image that we have created of how a person should live. We buy things we can’t afford, with money we don’t have, to try and impress people we don’t even know or like. We begin to lose touch with our own reality.

We become insecure because we compare our ‘behind the scenes’ with everyone else’s ‘highlight reel’. We lose touch with the beautiful things in our life and lose appreciation for them.

Rather than focusing on what you don’t have or complaining about your current situation try focusing on what you have that makes your life special and worthwhile. Try focusing on how fortunate you are. Focus on the wonderful things in your life and the wonderful people in it.

Be grateful, be humble and always keep in mind that someone else is happy with a lot less than you have.
