Signature Workout: Welcome Party
Circuit Style Workout
This workout is your welcome to the gym. It takes only 5 minutes and anyone can do it, but what I’m looking for is whether you truly go all out—Welcome Party is a test of your psychological willpower more than any- thing else. If you go hard enough, you’re invited to stay and train with me. If you slack off, you’re invited to leave.
Load a barbell so it weighs 135 pounds. Start by doing 20 barbell bench presses, then do 20 burpee/ Pull-ups. If you can’t do 20 consecutive reps of one or both of the exercises, simply rest, as needed, during each set until you can finish. Then, immediately do 10 barbell bench presses followed by 10 burpee pull-ups.

Reps: 20, 10 of each
Time: 3 to 5 Minutes
